The SDGs@UofT is an institutional strategic initiative that aims to enhance the University of Toronto’s capacity to address the complex, intersecting challenges presented by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is achieved through bridging silos, fostering collaboration, empowering trainees, and promoting knowledge mobilization.
The SDGs@UofT blog series serves as a platform for the U of T community to share research, insights, and perspectives related to the SDGs. It is also a space to foster dialogue among diverse stakeholders on pressing global challenges and sustainable solutions.

Scope and Focus
- Blog posts should clearly connect to one or more SDGs.
- Highlight intersections between SDGs, including how they enable or challenge progress.
- Reflect on the broader impact of research beyond academia.
- Where relevant, consider the role of post-secondary institutions and research in advancing sustainable development.

Submission Guidelines
- Length: 500 words recommended (maximum 800 words).
- Title: Please include a working title.
- References: Include 2-3 sources to be hyperlinked within the article.
- Author headshot and bio: Please include an author headshot and a short bio (maximum 70 words).
- Social media: Please include any relevant social media handles. Your post may be promoted across our social media channels at various points.
Tone and Language
- Use clear, accessible, and inclusive language suitable for a broad audience.
- Maintain a respectful, constructive, and non-confrontational tone.
- Avoid inflammatory or divisive language.
- Do not use sexually explicit or violent rhetoric.
- Content must not promote racism, sexism, or bias of any kind.

- Begin with a clear introduction that sets context and purpose.
- Explicitly connect your topic or research to relevant SDGs.
- Emphasize intersections between SDGs where possible.
- Include real-world implications, examples, or applications.

Editorial Process
All submissions will be reviewed to ensure alignment with the goals and vision of SDGs@UofT. Authors may receive feedback suggesting ways to strengthen connections to SDGs, enhance clarity, or better reflect interdisciplinary and institutional perspectives.
