The Transdisciplinary Knowledge Co-Production in SDGs Research Community of Practice (SDGs-TKC CoP) is an inclusive, collaborative space designed to bring together a diverse range of participants, including students, faculty, staff, librarians, and external members from local, national, and global organizations. This CoP focuses advancing SDGs-related research through transdisciplinary knowledge co-production, emphasizing ongoing communication, collaboration, and connection among its members. It provides a platform for the exchange of ideas, best practices, and knowledge across various fields and sectors.
Objectives

Establish a network of researchers and community partners engaged in TKC research that addresses one or more SDGs.

Create mechanisms and structures that enable TKC research and evaluation processes between researchers and community partners (external to higher education) to advance the SDGs.

Provide opportunities for skill building for early career researchers and trainees interested in conducting TKC relevant to SDGs.
Since this project will be implemented over the course of a year, the deliverables associated with the objectives will be aligned accordingly.
Guiding Principles
The guiding principles for the SDGs-TKC CoP are outlined as follows:
- Transformative: Catalyze opportunities that directly and indirectly achieve significant change for individuals and groups of people on local, national and global scales.
- Equity, Diversity & Inclusion: Ensure that membership, knowledge sharing, and benefits acknowledge differences, and are accessible to and inclusive of areas of difference (i.e., discipline, culture, learning style).
- Power Sharing: Consistently dismantle personal and professional hierarchies to enable equal participation and value in CoP.
- Anti-Oppressive: Create a space that facilitates research that challenges and deconstructs systems of oppression (i.e., colonialism, sexism, racism) that reinforce unequitable conditions for other groups of people to shift societal dynamics in ways that decrease and eliminate oppression.
- Decolonizing: Deconstructing colonial and western ideations and practices.
