We’re pleased to announce that on June 27, University of Toronto’s Executive Council has approved a new extra-departmental unit (EDU:C). The institutes for Resilient and Inclusive Societies and Ecosystems (iRISE) is a tri-campus unit that will be hosted at U of T Scarborough.

The SDGs Scholars Academy serves as a think tank bringing together leading researchers and encouraging them to pursue convergence research and knowledge mobilization to address issues that are crucial to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and informing future global goals.

Research Themes

Four research themes have been identified that will be leveraged to create a research agenda to address complex intersecting problems reflected in the SDGs and inform future global goals. The SDGs@UofT research themes addresses multiple SDGs and illuminate ways in which they interact to prevent or enable sustainable development.
