Vera Allue

UTM Economics and Political Science

Vera Allue is a world traveler and content creator passionate about climate education, sustainable tourism and food sovereignty. She represented UofT at COP29 in Azerbaijan and has led climate awareness campaigns in schools across Peru, Spain, Romania and Canada. Vera is developing an app under an IRENA accelerator and conducting research with the Reach Alliance on the role of women-led collectives in preserving traditional cuisine while promoting local sustainability in rural Mexico.

A student of Economics, Political Science and Environmental Law and Policy at the University of Toronto Mississauga, she also serves as a youth climate advisor for the City of Mississauga. Vera brings a combination of academic knowledge and hands-on experience to her advocacy. As a part of the Student Advisory Committee, she hopes to contribute to SDG knowledge mobilization, foster student engagement and strengthen tri-campus collaboration.
