Dr. Shoshanna Saxe is an Assistant Professor in the University of Toronto’s Department of Civil and Mineral Engineering, and a Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Infrastructure.
She investigates the relationship between the infrastructure we build and the society we create to identify opportunities – and pathways – to better align infrastructure provision with sustainability. Her two main research questions are 1) what infrastructure should we build to achieve long term sustainability and 2) how should we build it? She specializes in holistic assessment of infrastructure, considering both direct and indirect impacts.
