
Riya Osti is a Dual Degree Master's student at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (MPP) and Columbia University (MIA). As a place-based researcher, her work focuses on understanding the socio-economic impacts of electrification in Nepal and exploring how electrification systems can be improved to maximize positive outcomes at the household level. Looking into the various components of electrification and development, Riya is interested in engaging with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for fostering an interdisciplinary understanding of sustainability. She remains passionate about creating social spaces where communities can engage with climate interests and goals, encouraging collaboration, dialogue, and locally grounded solutions.
