Praneeta Mudaliar, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Natural Resources Policy and Stewardship at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Her teaching and research examine the intersections of power and justice in the governance of natural resources. Her current projects build on a decade of comparative research in the United States, Canada, India, and East Africa, and includes topics such as water governance, land and forest conservation, fisheries governance, and climate justice.
She has published on the role of institutions, environmental justice, and participatory decision-making in natural resource governance in a wide variety of journals. She serves as an Editor for Local Environment: The Journal of Justice and Sustainability. She is committed to student mentorship, integrating research and teaching, and action-research to empower the next generation of scholars and practitioners to take ownership of their learning and engage in socially responsive environmental problem-solving.
