Otuto Chukwu

Otuto Amarauche Chukwu is a PhD candidate in Health Policy at IHPME, University of Toronto. A licensed pharmacist, social impact innovator, and multiple award-winning scholar, he brings over a decade of experience in health-systems strengthening and policy research. He has engaged in various academic and community leadership endeavors, including supporting the Lancet Commission on Cancer and Health Systems, securing numerous research grants, publishing several papers in high-impact journals, and presenting his work at conferences across 6 continents.

He is a Vanier Scholar and an International Development Research Centre Scholar; he is also a 2022 Junior Fellow of Massey College. His leadership has earned him the 2023 Michael Decter Award for Health Leadership and Policy, the 2024 Emerging Academic Award from the University of Toronto’s Gown Awards, and a 40 Under 40 Public Health Catalyst Award from the Boston Congress of Public Health.
