Dominique Vervoort

PhD Candidate

Dr. Dominique Vervoort, PhD Candidate in Health Services Research at the University of Toronto, focuses on Health Technology Assessment in cardiac surgery. He's a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship recipient and concurrently pursues an MSt in Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford. With an MD from KU Leuven and an MPH/MBA from Johns Hopkins, he's recognized for his global health work and is a Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellow. He introduced global cardiac surgery and established the Global Cardiac Surgery Initiative, earning recognition as an Emerging Leader by the World Heart Federation. Co-founder of InciSioN, he advocates for global surgery trainees. Dr. Vervoort serves on advisory boards and has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals.
