Béatrice Lego is the Campus Farm Coordinator, she oversees administrative tasks for teaching and pedagogical farm projects. Her role includes facilitating site visits, creating experiential learning materials, and managing overall farm operations. The Campus Farm serves as a practical space for exploring sustainability in line with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
With a PhD in Polymer and Surface Chemistry from Université de Montréal, along with certifications in permaculture and social systems design, Béatrice brings a unique academic background to her work. She has been involved with the Campus Farm since its inception in 2018.
Before joining U of T, Béatrice managed labs in the Bioengineering department at McGill University and worked as a research scientist with Agriculture and Agri-food Canada, where she holds two invention declarations.
Béatrice has received recognition for her contributions, including the Faculty and Staff Award for Alumni Engagement at the University of Toronto Scarborough in 2023 and the Adams Sustainability Action Awards in 2023.
