Monika Kataria

Institute of Medical Science

Monika is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto and conducts research at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, University Health Network. She is also enrolled in the Collaborative Program in Neuroscience. Her research applies implementation science to improve access to chronic pain care in Canada by expanding and scaling Project ECHO chronic pain, a virtual education model. By supporting equitable access to health services and building capacity among providers, her work aims to address systemic barriers in healthcare delivery. Monika earned her undergraduate degree from Miranda House at the University of Delhi and her master’s degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. Her interdisciplinary background, grounded in global health and system-level change, informs her commitment to sustainable and inclusive care models. Outside of academia, she enjoys painting and has a strong affection for cats.
