Ana is a PhD student in the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources, and in the Harney Program's Graduate Specialization in Ethnic, Immigration and Pluralism Studies. She is interested in the trajectories of Brazilian women looking for work in Toronto who sometimes may find alternative economic opportunities of entrepreneurship through ethnic networks, offering products and services that are typically gendered.
She is a member of the Women for careers in International Organisations Network, a volunteer mentor for prospective graduate students at the Brazilian Students' Association (BRASA) and a volunteer mentor for Brazilian women looking for career development at Alumna. She is committed to helping other women to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
Ana has a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and a master's degree in Economics from IBMEC Faculty of Economics and Finance. She studied Sustainable Energies at Politecnico di Torino and Logistics at COPPEAD Institute of Administration. She worked in Operations and Supply Chain Management for about 10 years, mostly as a New Product Development Project Manager. She teaches topics related to Human Resources Management and Organizational Behaviour. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, fencing, and aerial acrobatics.
